Since photography is mostly a hobby for me I can't justify a big expense to upgrade unless the d70 bit the dust! Also - that ball head is SO worth it! I like pan heads for panoramas but the panoramas I've managed to get with the ball head don't make me regret the decision to go with it. Yup Doug I am still shooting with the D70s. The pan head has its merits also. Depends on what your needs are in my opinion. P.S. Hate to put you on the spot, but are you still shooting with that D70? :) ?
